The cold, dilapidating winter is just about over and we’ve come out of hibernation a bit earlier than expected.
We’re debuting a slew of new material (for free, no less!) at the Cha Cha on Sunday, February 15th. We’re playing with Partman Parthorse, who put on a great live show. Be there!
We have a lot of projects in the works this year and we’ll keep you updated as often as possible!
Don’t forget to check us out here, too: http://www.myspace.com/manplus

Hi!
We’re playing an awesome show this Sunday, September 28th at Nectar in Fremont! We’re opening for an awesome Montreal band called We Are Wolves, and our B.F.F.’s New Faces!
See ya’ll there! xo
As was stated earlier this week, you can download NEW music from us for FREE on our website. You know you want to… all the cool kids are doing it! Including the awesome people over at Seattle Subsonic (http://www.seattlesubsonic.com/2008/09/09/man-plus-remixed/), after reading the nice things they say about us (we think it’s the drugs) you should read the other things they have to say because it’s obvious that they have amazing taste over there.
Speaking of taste, you can get a sweet, sweet taste of what our remixes sound like live by attending Cheryl Water’s Midday Dance Party on the 13th at Nectar in Fremont!!! When you sweat through what you wore to the show, you know with all the dancing and whathaveyou, you can also buy our new tshirt at the show.

My main squeeze bought me Justice League Heroes for our PS2 and I am fully addicted. I haven’t been eating, sleeping, or working. Just trying to save the world as Green Lantern via my couch. I plan to spend the rest of the weekend with a pint of ice cream and a bunch of super heroes.
Moving on: You can download a free digital EP of remixes from The Hungarian Suicide Songbook. Where can you find this? Why, here: http://www.manplusrocks.com/music/RemixedSongbook.zip Enjoy, and let us know what you think!

Actually, we are juuuust over the hump. Amen! I was ready for Friday while still on vacation this Monday. Sometimes the anticipation of going to work is far worse than actually being there. Mainly because it involves riding the bus daily and pretending to listen to music to drown out the crazies. My headphones broke recently; their sole purpose now is to muffle the sounds of Rashida and her phone call regarding her “skinny bitch of an ex best friend” and the incessant foot tapping of Kevin who is taking summer classes at UW. Unfortunately, my high tech ear muffs don’t blind me.
Moving on to the light at the end of the tunnel…Man Plus! That’s really why we’re here, right? Everyone needs to update their palm pilots/blackberries/cell phone calenders/tiny portable notebooks to include the plethora of upcoming shows.
Why celebrate the 4th of July when you can celebrate the 5th of July with US at the High Dive? It’s going to be a mantabulous show and will POSSIBLY debut a new bassist. Possibly. I err on the side of caution when leaking this information because I am simply not sure whether or not it is true.
Then, on July 11th we are having a pool party at Reese’s parents’ house and playing a show in Bellingham at the Boundary Bay Brewery. Mmmm….beer.
On July 12th we are having a good ol’ fashion ho-down complete with chickens. Yes, chickens. LIVE ONES! At the Doom Nest. It is a house party unlike any you will ever attend. (Come on, there’s livestock)
July 26th is the Capitol Hill Block Party. We are playing the Vera Stage in the hot outdoors AND it is all ages. Enough said.
And if you are truly devoted to Man Plus you will follow us to Spokane, WA, Missoula, Mt and Billings, MT starting August 7th. Manat’s in-law’s are coming. They love us. You love us! Join the caravan!
Okay, I’m done. Craig is coming over. We are going to drink beer and delve into his medical history!

A big thanks to the Baltimore Blog, Pasta Primavera, for a mention in their Toofer Toosday post this week. Check them out on the web by following the above links!!!!!
“Man Plus get their name form a science fiction novel by Frederick Kohl where a man slowly becomes a cyborg so he can live on Mars. Well the band isn’t from Mars, but from Seattle, and they’re not cyborgs (though I could be wrong). Instead their a five piece band that sounds like electronics shaing hands with drums that pat male/female(Jared and Ellen) duo vocals on the back. Jared’s voice wavers between po and aggressive often complementing the rhythm of each song while Ellen’s calm vocals sway with the musical patterns that underly them. Man Plus plays BEASTLY/light indie rock…or bi polar indie rock…or something else that I haven’t thought of yet…hmmm…it’s good. And they’ve got a new album out called The Hungarian Suicide Songbook…go get it!”
The folks over at Pasta Primavera are right – you should go get our album, Hungarian Suicide Songbook, it’s on cdbaby, myspace and iTunes. You can also check it out on lastfm.com as well.
FINALLY, we’re gearing up for a couple of shows we’re playing over the next two weeks: Hard Candy @ King Cobra tomorrow night (4.23); Saturday 4.26 @ Bob’s World Famous Java Jive in Tacoma; the Ballard Music Festival, Friday 5/9; and last, but far from least, we’ll be in Portland on 5/10 playing the Towne Lounge (we can’t wait to kick it with our PDX friends!!) More details on covers and full bills, as always, at myspace.com/manplus.
